Case studyZenWeb designed and built the BON 900 website, a Bahasa Malaysia site for the hair pomade brand of Bon Jo International, based in Pagoh, Johor.
Written by Jian Tat Lee

BON is a hair pomade first introduced in Singapore in 1970. It became known in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, then left the market for a time. In 2026, Bon Jo International Sdn. Bhd. brought it back as BON 900 Special Edition. The company is based in Pagoh, Johor, and the pomade is made in Malaysia.
The range has four pomades. Extra and Plus are on sale now, while Classic and Royal are listed as coming soon. The brand leans on its heritage, from the original BON scent to vintage barbershop imagery. It is also looking for resellers and agents.
Many know the brand from their fathers' or grandfathers' time. The story page walks through its history, from 1970 to its return in 2026.
Younger men may not know the name at all. The home and product pages show the range, the price and everyday styling uses at a glance.
The brand is building a reseller network. A pop-up invites them to register, and the order form has a wholesale and agent option.

The home page opens with a man combing his hair at an old mirror and a large serif headline. Two buttons lead to the products and the brand story. Sections on the story, a video, the four pomades and the brand's heritage follow.

The story page tells how BON began in Singapore, spread across the region, paused, and returned. A timeline marks 1970, the 1980s, the 1990s and 2026. The page closes on the product range.

Each pomade has its own page. The Extra Pomade page shows five product photos, the price, texture, scent and jar size. Buy Now and WhatsApp buttons follow, with the rest of the range below.

The gallery collects hairstyle shots and heritage images built around old adverts and newspapers. Filter tabs let visitors switch between themes instead of scrolling through everything.

On a phone, the menu folds into a drawer, and the product cards and buy buttons stack into one easy column.

Moody, vintage-style images of men's hairstyles, barbershop scenes and old newspapers, plus close-ups of the red-lidded jar.
Near-black and dark brown with a deep red accent taken from the jar's lid.
A large classic serif for headlines, with small, widely spaced capitals for labels and menus.
A heritage brand coming back after years away has to remind older buyers and introduce itself to younger ones. The story page and timeline do the first job, and the product pages do the second. Writing in Bahasa Malaysia speaks to the brand's main market. WhatsApp orders and a reseller pop-up suit a brand that is building a network of resellers.
