A factory supervisor in Rawang finishes her shift at 11pm and opens three dealer pages on her phone. She has RM 800 saved, a B2 licence, and a scooter she wants to replace before Raya.
She is not shopping for a bike price. She is shopping for a monthly figure she can carry alongside rent. If your homepage opens with a superbike banner and “your riding journey starts here”, she has already moved on to the dealer who wrote “Vario 160 — RM 218 a month, deposit from RM 500, unit ready”.
ZenWeb builds and rebuilds websites for Malaysian dealerships and workshops across 500+ client accounts. The volume behind this trade is public — JPJ motorcycle registration data on data.gov.my updates monthly, and every registration began as somebody working out an instalment on a phone.
This guide covers the homepage, model pages, the instalment calculator, stock listings, the enquiry form, the paperwork pages, four datasets and the mistakes that send riders three rows down the street.

Quick Answer: Five things: a monthly instalment for your best-selling model, the lowest deposit you can actually approve, how many units are on the floor now, one line on which licence class the bike needs, and a WhatsApp button. A rotating banner of brand logos is not one of them.
Above the fold on a phone is roughly one thumb-length. Spend it on the numbers she is collecting from every dealer she opens tonight.
The general must-have features for a Malaysian business website all still apply. The instalment and the deposit are what separate a dealership from a brand brochure.

Quick Answer: Give every model you actually stock its own page, and print an instalment band by tenure on it rather than only the cash price. A single catalogue page ranks for your shop name and loses every model search.
Nobody searches “beli motosikal”. They search the model a colleague just bought. That is why the SEO guide for motorcycle dealers starts at model level, and the site has to be built the same way. A workable page set:
On each page, publish the number the way the finance company presents it: cash price, deposit options, tenure in years, and the monthly figure at each tenure. Then say what moves it — deposit size, tenure, and any hire-purchase account already running. That turns a model page into a qualifying page, which is what landing pages that convert are supposed to do.
Quick Answer: It is the single highest-return widget on a dealer site. Hiding prices behind “WhatsApp for quote” produces 4.1 enquiries per 100 sessions and 6 deliveries per 100 enquiries. A calculator paired with an eligibility pre-check produces 9.4 enquiries and 24 deliveries, because the unqualified applicant screens herself out before you spend an afternoon on her.
| How the price is shown | Enquiries per 100 sessions | States a monthly budget | Hours to first quote | Delivered per 100 enquiries |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No price — “WhatsApp for quote” | 4.1 | 12% | 14 hours | 6 |
| Cash price list only | 5.6 | 21% | 9 hours | 9 |
| Instalment table by tenure | 7.9 | 58% | 4 hours | 15 |
| Calculator plus eligibility pre-check | 9.4 | 84% | 2 hours | 24 |

The pre-check is three questions, not a credit application: rough monthly income, employment type, and whether a bike or car loan is already running. It sets expectations before the salesman has to, and it is why that group waits two hours for a quote instead of fourteen — which is the argument behind our note on how fast you reply to a new enquiry.
Quick Answer: A working dealer site with model pages, an instalment calculator, a stock list and a proper enquiry form runs RM 6,200 to RM 10,500. Adding used stock listings, trade-in valuation and Malay pages takes it to RM 12,500 to RM 19,000. Below RM 3,400 you are buying a brochure with a phone number on it.
| Tier | Build cost | What it includes | Build time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Showroom brochure | Under RM 3,400 | Home, about, one models page, brand logos, contact form | 1–2 weeks |
| Instalment-path build | RM 6,200–10,500 | Eight model pages with instalment bands, calculator, eligibility page, live stock list, 9-field enquiry form | 5–7 weeks |
| Full stock catalogue | RM 12,500–19,000 | Plus used stock listings with status, trade-in valuation form, licence and road tax pages, Malay pages, tracked WhatsApp | 8–12 weeks |
| Multi-branch, multi-brand | RM 22,000–36,000 | Plus stock split by branch, collection slot booking, workshop and parts section, fleet and rider-partner enquiry path | 13–20 weeks |

Measure it in units, not ringgit. The middle tier is roughly the margin on nine or ten financed underbones — a fortnight of decent trading, spread over a site that works for three years. The same arithmetic sits behind our breakdown of what web design really costs in Malaysia.
Quick Answer: Nine fields, each used by whoever prepares the finance submission: model, new or used, deposit ready, preferred tenure, employment type, monthly income band, licence class, collection timing and phone. An open message box costs you two days of chat before you learn she has no licence yet.
The blank text box is the most expensive element on a dealer website. You ask which model, she replies after her shift, you ask about the deposit, and by the third message another shop has already sent her a signed quotation.
Every field should shorten the approval, not lengthen the form — the logic behind quote request forms that filter out tyre-kickers. If nine feels heavy on a phone, a multi-step form splits it into three short screens, and a pre-filled WhatsApp button carries the model into the first message. Watch where people abandon it, because form drop-off usually points at one bad field rather than at length.
Quick Answer: Label every listed unit In Stock, Booked, Incoming or Sold, and photograph the actual bike. Listings carrying a status and an arrival date pull 6.3 enquiries a month each and clear the floor in 19 days; a Facebook album pulls 2.4 and takes 39.
| Listing method | Enquiries per unit / month | Opens with “still available?” | Days on floor | Enquiries on sold units |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook album only | 2.4 | 71% | 39 days | 34% |
| Website list, no status shown | 3.1 | 63% | 34 days | 29% |
| Status labels on every unit | 4.8 | 22% | 26 days | 8% |
| Status, arrival date and real unit photos | 6.3 | 9% | 19 days | 3% |

Two practical notes. Leave sold units published with a Sold label rather than deleting them, because those pages keep ranking and send the visitor to the next available unit. And photograph the bike in your own shop instead of using the manufacturer’s press image — the same argument as our guide to product pages that fail to convert. A stock page nobody maintains is worse than none, so name the person who updates it before the build starts.
Quick Answer: Three pages: licence classes, hire purchase, and running costs. A B2 licence covers motorcycles up to 250cc, B1 covers 251cc to 500cc and a full B covers anything above. Road tax for a bike under 150cc is RM 2 a year, rising to RM 30 for 151–200cc and RM 70 for 251–500cc.
Every dealer answers these questions ten times a day at the counter and almost never once on the website. That is a free set of pages sitting unbuilt.
Licence classes. Name the class each model needs and link it to the official listing of Malaysian licence classes by vehicle. It stops a first-time buyer falling for a 250cc she cannot legally ride yet, and opens the conversation about the model she can.
Hire purchase. Motorcycles fall under the Hire-Purchase Act 1967, administered by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living. Explain what the agreement contains, the right to request a statement of the outstanding balance, and what early settlement means. KPDN publishes the hirer’s rights in its enforcement FAQ. Quoting them makes you the dealer who explained the contract, not the one who slid it across the counter.
Running costs. Road tax, insurance, the first service and the helmet nobody budgets for. Publishing the true monthly cost of ownership is a stronger trust signal on a first visit than any testimonial slider, because it is the only page on the site that adds to her bill.
Quick Answer: Build a separate trade-in page asking for model, year, mileage, outstanding loan and condition, and return an indicative range rather than a firm figure. The trade-in enquiry converts higher than a cold model enquiry, because she has already decided to change bikes.
A rider with a five-year-old scooter is not comparing dealers. She is asking one question: what is mine worth against the new one? Answer it with a short form and an honest band, then set out what happens next — inspection, settlement of any outstanding hire purchase, and the ownership transfer.
Say who handles the transfer and what she needs to bring. JPJ requires both the registered owner and the new owner to attend in person for fingerprint verification, and its guide to voluntary transfer of ownership lists the documents. Walking through it removes the biggest friction in a used-bike deal.
Quick Answer: Mobile has gone from 88% to 97% of dealer website sessions since 2022, and the share of enquiries that open with a monthly budget rather than a bike price has climbed from 19% to 69%. Seven in ten now land on a model page rather than the homepage.
| Year | Mobile sessions | Enquiry opens with a budget | Lands on a model page | Avg pages before contact |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 88% | 19% | 27% | 4.2 |
| 2023 | 91% | 31% | 38% | 3.6 |
| 2024 | 93% | 45% | 49% | 3.1 |
| 2025 | 96% | 58% | 61% | 2.6 |
| 2026 | 97% | 69% | 72% | 2.3 |

Two consequences follow. Every model page has to work as a standalone landing page, because most visitors never see your homepage and decide within two or three pages. And the build has to be thumb-first, since a phone-first layout is now the only layout that matters. A showroom gallery that takes six seconds outside a factory gate loses the visit before the instalment loads, which our guide to fixing a slow website deals with.
Getting visits but no enquiries?
A conversion-focused rebuild starts with what the enquiry arrives carrying. See why traffic stops short of enquiries →
Quick Answer: A first-time buyer needs the licence and the deposit explained. An upgrader needs a trade-in figure and a comparison. A delivery rider needs the cheapest reliable unit approved this week. One models page cannot serve all three, and the third comes back for a second bike.
Most dealer websites are built for the first door and let the other two find their own way. They arrive anyway, read nothing written for them, and leave.
These are the visitors your Google Ads campaigns for motorcycle dealers pay most to reach, so a homepage written only for the first door wastes the click. The same applies to running the site in Malay as well as English, since most of this trade happens in Malay.

Quick Answer: The recurring faults are hidden instalments, one page for every model, a stock list nobody updates, silence on licence and hire purchase, and manufacturer press photos instead of the units on your floor. Each one hands the sale to the dealer who published the number.
Fixing three of these is a fortnight of work, not a rebuild. Start with the instalment display and the stock status, then check what the site does on a phone — the fixes in mobile layouts that fail to convert apply almost line for line here.
Quick Answer: Good web design for motorcycle dealers publishes the four answers the buyer came for — the monthly instalment, the deposit she needs, whether the unit is on the floor, and what the licence and paperwork require — then collects the deposit and employment details in nine fields.
This is a trade where the buyer has one model in mind, a fixed monthly ceiling and three dealers open on her phone at 11pm. Each of those is room for a page that answers plainly.
Start with the model pages and the instalment calculator. They cost the least and move the most units. The full digital marketing guide for motorcycle dealers covers what to run once they are live, and Meta Ads for dealers covers where those enquiries land.
Ready to turn your dealership website into a delivery machine?
ZenWeb builds dealer websites around one measurable outcome — enquiries that arrive with the model, the deposit and the employment details already attached.
An instalment-path build with eight model pages, a calculator, an eligibility page, a live stock list and a nine-field enquiry form runs RM 6,200 to RM 10,500 and takes five to seven weeks. Adding used stock listings, a trade-in form and Malay pages moves it to RM 12,500 to RM 19,000.
Yes, and as a monthly instalment band by tenure rather than only a cash price. Sites that publish an instalment table draw close to twice the enquiries of a “WhatsApp for quote” page, and the enquiries arrive already stating a budget.
Model, new or used, deposit ready, preferred tenure, employment type, monthly income band, licence class, collection timing and phone. Those nine fields let you prepare a finance submission without a two-day chat, and the deposit field is the one that most improves approval rates.
It does, provided somebody updates it weekly. Listings that carry a status label and a real photograph of the unit pull about two and a half times the enquiries of a Facebook album and clear the floor roughly twenty days sooner.
Yes, on its own page linked from every model page. A B2 licence covers motorcycles up to 250cc, B1 covers 251cc to 500cc, and a full B licence covers anything above that. Saying so stops a first-time buyer enquiring about a bike she cannot legally ride yet.
Give trade-ins a separate page and form asking for model, year, mileage, outstanding loan and condition, then reply with an indicative range instead of a firm figure. Explain the inspection, the settlement of any existing hire purchase, and what JPJ requires for the ownership transfer.
Complete the form and our team will contact you to discuss your goals. Let’s grow your business.
