Curtains and blinds are sold by the foot, quoted at the window, and searched for at night. That makes the trade unusually kind to search: the buyer knows what they want and is hunting for a shop that will state a price and come out to measure. Most Malaysian curtain shops answer neither question online.
This guide is for Malaysian curtain shops, blinds specialists, made-to-measure workrooms and motorised installers: keyword clusters, site structure, pricing, map pack ranking, Malay-language demand, and four datasets on where bookings come from.
ZenWeb runs SEO for home-furnishing retailers across a client base of 500+ Malaysian accounts. The pattern holds in every state: the shop that publishes a number outsells the shop that publishes a gallery.

Malaysia had 35.4 million internet users in October 2025, a 98.0% penetration rate, per DataReportal. Almost every household comparing curtain shops starts on a screen.

Quick Answer: Curtain buyers search in units before they search in brands — per foot for curtains, per square foot for blinds. A shop that never publishes a unit price cannot rank for the queries that produce measurement bookings.
Open any Malaysian curtain search at 11pm and the shapes repeat: curtain price per feet, roller blind price per square feet, harga langsir siap pasang. Nobody wants inspiration. They want to know whether six windows cost RM 2,000 or RM 8,000 before letting a stranger in.
Ranges are already public here. Custom blinds are advertised from around RM 5.50 to RM 9.90 per square foot by type, installation charged separately. Your number need not be the lowest. It has to exist.
Quick Answer: The search path runs price, then type, then proximity, then proof. Shops that only build pages for the last step arrive too late in the sequence to be shortlisted at all.
Each step needs its own page. A homepage cannot serve four intents at once.
Our guide to finding what Malaysians search for covers the method; the wider channel plan sits in our digital marketing guide for curtain shops.
Quick Answer: Start with blind-type plus township, then unit price, then Malay terms. Leave design and inspiration keywords until last — they carry the most traffic and the least buying intent of any cluster here.
A first list for a Klang Valley shop:
Repair terms are the cluster most shops dismiss. They are cheap to rank for and they put a technician in the living room, the best place to quote a re-curtain.
Quick Answer: One page per product type, one per service area, one pricing page, one measurement-booking page. Everything else is supporting content. Most curtain sites put a photo gallery where the product pages should be.
The structure that ranks is a catalogue, not a portfolio:
Each product page needs a price band, photos of your own work and answers on light control, cleaning and lifespan. Our on-page SEO checklist covers the mechanics.
Quick Answer: Yes, as a banded range with the variables named. Hidden pricing does not protect your margin. It removes you from the results where the margin is decided and hands the enquiry to whoever published first.
The usual objection is that rivals will undercut you. They already know your rates; your customers do not.
State the fabric band, make-up charge, track or motor cost and installation fee separately, then work an example for a three-bedroom condo. Avoid one flat figure; it invites a dispute at the visit.

Quick Answer: Answer the six questions a buyer asks about that blind — price band, light control, room suitability, cleaning, lifespan and lead time — in that order, using your own installation photos. Brochure copy ranks nowhere.
A day-and-night blind page should say what the bands do to afternoon glare in a west-facing living room, what happens when the chain ages, and how long the fabric holds colour in local humidity. Your installers know that; rival copywriters do not.
Use photos of blinds you actually installed, with the township in the file name and alt text. Give a real lead time too: seven working days is a common local benchmark, so if yours is four, say so.
Quick Answer: Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence. A curtain shop controls relevance through its categories and services, and prominence through reviews and photos — distance is fixed, so the other two decide who appears.
Google states that local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. For a curtain shop that means four jobs this month:
The method is in our guides to ranking in the Google Maps top three and setting up a Google Business Profile.
Quick Answer: A township page earns its place when it carries information that applies only to that township — the condos you have curtained, the window sizes, the management office rules. Swapping a place name into the same paragraph produces pages Google ignores.
Curtain work is local in its detail, which makes real township pages easy to write. A Setia Alam landed-house page covers tall stairwell windows and west sun; a Bangsar South condo page covers fixed glazing, drilling limits and lift booking.
Build one only where you have installed three jobs. Below that you have nothing unique to say, and a thin page drags the site down.
Quick Answer: Curtain buyers let a stranger measure inside their home and pay a deposit before anything is made. A credentials page — SSM number, warranty terms, motor brand authorisation — answers the risk question photos cannot.
Put four things on one page, linked from every product page:
None is a ranking factor alone. Together they make the page that gets quoted when a search engine or AI assistant picks a shop to recommend.
Quick Answer: Curtain sites are slow because of unoptimised installation photos. Resize before upload, lazy-load the gallery, and add structured data so your price bands and reviews read as data rather than decoration.
Three fixes cover most of it:
Our plain-English technical SEO guide covers the speed and mobile checks.
Quick Answer: AI answer engines quote specific, checkable statements. “Roller blinds from RM 6.50 per square foot, installed within seven working days across Klang Valley” gets cited. “Quality window solutions for your home” never does.

Quick Answer: Blind-type plus township converts best at 9.6% of sessions into a home measurement, and 58% of those measurements into an order. Design and inspiration keywords take the largest traffic share at 27% and convert at 2.2%.
| Keyword cluster | Session share | Session to measurement | Measurement to order |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blind type plus township | 11% | 9.6% | 58% |
| Unit price queries | 24% | 7.4% | 46% |
| Malay langsir and bidai terms | 17% | 6.7% | 43% |
| Motorised and smart blinds | 6% | 5.1% | 61% |
| Brand and showroom names | 15% | 3.6% | 39% |
| Design and inspiration | 27% | 2.2% | 29% |

Motorised queries are the smallest cluster and the best closer: once an installer is explaining a motor, the order rate is the highest here.
Quick Answer: Map pack movement starts around month two, product pages settle by month four, and township pages compound from month six. Home measurements reach roughly 58 a month by month twelve for a single-showroom shop.
| Month | Avg map pack position | Keywords in top 10 | Measurements per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Month 1 | 18.4 | 0 | 4 |
| Month 2 | 12.1 | 1 | 7 |
| Month 4 | 6.8 | 6 | 16 |
| Month 6 | 4.1 | 12 | 27 |
| Month 9 | 2.6 | 21 | 41 |
| Month 12 | 1.9 | 33 | 58 |

The curve is steeper than most trades because competition on type-plus-township terms is thin. Our guide to how long SEO takes sets the wider view.

Quick Answer: Cost per confirmed order runs from about RM 102 for a multi-branch operator to RM 167 for a home-based workroom. Against a typical whole-home curtain order, that is a small fraction of the job value.
| Business size | Monthly SEO spend | Orders at month 12 | Cost per order |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home-based workroom | RM 1,500 | 9 | RM 167 |
| Single shoplot showroom | RM 2,400 | 19 | RM 126 |
| Showroom plus own workroom | RM 3,900 | 34 | RM 115 |
| Three or more outlets | RM 6,200 | 61 | RM 102 |
Aggregated from ZenWeb-managed campaigns, Malaysia, 2024–2026.
Cost per order falls as outlets multiply: township pages and reviews compound across branches instead of restarting.
Quick Answer: Demand runs 28% above the annual average in the pre-Raya month and stays high through the Chinese New Year run-up, then falls to its floor in June. The mid-year trough is when your content should be published, not paused.
| Month | Demand index | Relative volume |
|---|---|---|
| January | 102 | |
| February | 116 | |
| March | 128 | |
| April | 96 | |
| May | 88 | |
| June | 84 | |
| July | 87 | |
| August | 92 | |
| September | 95 | |
| October | 96 | |
| November | 106 | |
| December | 112 |

Two peaks, one shallow trough. New curtains before Raya and Chinese New Year drive the first half; year-end handovers lift the last two months.
Quick Answer: The five costliest are hiding prices, building a gallery instead of product pages, ignoring Malay-language demand, publishing thin township pages, and treating a measurement booking as a soft enquiry rather than the conversion.
Quick Answer: SEO for curtain shops rewards specificity — a unit price, a page per blind type, a township page per area you genuinely serve, and a booking page built for one job. The measurement diary follows within two quarters.
Competition on the commercial terms is still thin. Most Malaysian curtain websites are galleries with a phone number. A shop that publishes numbers, writes what its installers know and treats the measurement as the conversion will pass them inside a year.
Map movement appears by month two and product pages settle around month four. Measurements reach roughly 58 a month by month twelve for a single showroom, per ZenWeb client tracking.
Different jobs. Ads fill next week’s diary and stop when you pause them. SEO builds a base that keeps producing, and at RM 102 to RM 167 per order it is cheaper across a year.
Yes. Malay langsir and bidai searches take a 17% session share and book measurements at around 6.7% of sessions, against thinner competing pages.
No. Build one only where you have completed three jobs and can describe the window types, building rules or sun exposure there. Thin location pages weaken the site.
