Most years, Valentine’s Day is an easy February win for florists, cafés, jewellers and gift shops. Valentine’s Day Malaysia 2027 is different. It lands on a Sunday, only a week after the Chinese New Year rush, and most likely inside the first week of Ramadan. Your budget, your audience and your tone all need more thought than usual.
This guide is for SME owners and marketing executives selling gifts, dining, beauty or experiences. It covers campaign ideas, timing, costs, channels, cultural notes and measurement. At ZenWeb, a Google Partner agency with 500+ Malaysian clients, we plan festive campaigns around the Malaysian calendar every year.

Quick Answer: Yes, for the right businesses and the right audience. Valentine’s Day is a strong gifting and dining occasion for many non-Muslim Malaysian couples. But in 2027 it sits between CNY and the start of Ramadan, so run a focused campaign with a clear audience and a modest budget, not a nationwide blast.
Three things shape Valentine’s Day 2027 in Malaysia:
That is why the best 2027 campaigns pick a clear buyer rather than “everyone in Malaysia”:
| Business type | Who usually buys | What sells |
|---|---|---|
| Florists and gift shops | Partners buying for delivery, often last-minute | Bouquets, gift boxes, same-day delivery |
| Restaurants and cafés | Couples booking a weekend dinner | Set menus, pre-paid bookings |
| Jewellery and beauty | Researched buyers comparing options | Engraving, sets, gift wrapping |
| Spas, studios, hotels | Couples and friends buying experiences | Couple packages, e-vouchers |
If your customers are mainly Muslim, read our guide to marketing Valentine’s Day respectfully during Ramadan 2027 before you commit any budget.
Quick Answer: The strongest Valentine’s Day Malaysia campaigns for SMEs solve a real buyer problem: gift bundles by budget, early-bird pre-orders, same-day e-vouchers, dinner-at-home sets and a “Love Week” that runs from 14 February to Chap Goh Mei on 20 February. Pick two or three that fit your margins.
Run two or three, each in its own ad set; our guide to creative testing shows how to compare them. Many of these ideas return for Mother’s Day campaigns in May 2027.
Quick Answer: Plan in December 2026 and build your page in January, but hold most ad spend until CNY is over. The main Valentine’s push runs from Monday 8 February to Saturday 13 February 2027, with e-vouchers on the day itself and a Chap Goh Mei follow-up up to 20 February.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| December 2026 | Choose your buyer and 2–3 ideas, set budget, brief creatives |
| 4 – 17 January 2027 | Build the Valentine’s landing page, so search engines can index it |
| 18 January – 5 February | CNY peak: light organic teasers and pre-order sign-ups only |
| 6 – 7 February | CNY holiday: schedule ads to go live on Monday |
| 8 – 11 February | Main ad push; early-bird offer closes |
| 12 – 13 February | Last delivery cut-off; switch ads to e-vouchers and walk-ins |
| 14 February (Sunday) | Same-day vouchers, bookings, store-hours updates |
| 15 – 20 February | Chap Goh Mei follow-up; retarget people who browsed but didn’t buy |
Valentine’s ads during the CNY peak usually waste money, as both festivals chase the same gift buyers at peak prices. Our guide to one ad budget for CNY and Ramadan 2027 shows where Valentine’s fits. If you close over CNY, check whether to pause ads during the holiday.
Quick Answer: Late. In ZenWeb-managed Malaysian gift, florist and dining campaigns, an estimated 55–70% of Valentine’s orders came in the final week, including the day itself, and only about 10–15% more than two weeks out. In 2027, that final week starts the day after CNY ends.
| Window | 2027 dates | Share of orders (est.) |
|---|---|---|
| 15+ days before | Before 30 Jan | 10–15% |
| 7–14 days before | 31 Jan – 7 Feb | 15–20% |
| 3–6 days before | 8 – 11 Feb | 30–35% |
| 1–2 days before | 12 – 13 Feb | 20–25% |
| On the day | 14 Feb | 5–10% |

Late buying is good news for 2027. Your heaviest spend lands after CNY, when Meta costs dip briefly before Ramadan advertisers ramp up. Restaurants are the exception: couples book a weekend dinner 7–14 days ahead, so open bookings before CNY.
Quick Answer: ZenWeb estimates Google Ads clicks for Valentine’s searches in Malaysia at about RM0.60–RM5.00 depending on the category, with flowers and jewellery at the top. Meta CPMs for Valentine’s offers in the 8–13 February window run an estimated RM14–RM26. All 2027 figures are projections, not quotes.
| Category | Google CPC (est.) | Meta CPM, 8–13 Feb (est.) |
|---|---|---|
| Flower delivery | RM1.50–RM4.50 | RM18–RM26 |
| Jewellery and watches | RM1.50–RM5.00 | RM16–RM25 |
| Gift boxes and hampers | RM0.80–RM2.50 | RM15–RM23 |
| Valentine’s dinner | RM0.60–RM2.00 | RM14–RM22 |
| Spa and couple experiences | RM0.80–RM2.80 | RM14–RM21 |

Search clicks cost more in the last 72 hours as delivery-focused florists bid hard. For year-round benchmarks, see our Facebook ads cost guide for Malaysia. To see how Valentine’s prices compare with the week before, check our CNY 2027 Google Ads CPC and budget guide.
Quick Answer: Most Malaysian SMEs can run a useful Valentine’s campaign on about RM1,500–RM12,000 of ad spend over two weeks (estimate). Small budgets should focus on Google Search and one Meta ad set. Larger budgets add TikTok and retargeting, but still keep most spend in the 8–13 February window.
| Tier (ad spend, est.) | Split | Meta | TikTok / other | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter: RM1,500–RM3,000 | 55% | 45% | 0% | |
| Growth: RM3,000–RM6,000 | 45% | 40% | 15% | |
| Scale: RM6,000–RM12,000 | 40% | 40% | 20% |

Google gets the biggest share at small budgets because Valentine’s buyers search with clear intent: “flower delivery KL”, “valentine dinner Penang”. Quick Answer: Use Google Search to catch buyers who already know what they want, Meta and TikTok to give undecided buyers ideas, your website to take orders, and WhatsApp or email to remind past customers. Each channel has a different job in a short Valentine’s window.
Quick Answer: Offers that remove a worry convert best. In ZenWeb-managed Malaysian Valentine’s campaigns, guaranteed-delivery bundles and pre-paid set menus converted at an estimated 3.0–5.0% of landing-page visits, against 1.0–2.0% for a plain percentage discount. Certainty beats a cheaper price.
| Offer type | Conversion rate (est.) |
|---|---|
| Bundle with guaranteed delivery date | 3.5–5.0% |
| Pre-paid set menu or booking | 3.0–4.5% |
| Instant e-voucher | 2.5–4.0% |
| Free personalisation or engraving | 2.0–3.5% |
| Free gift with purchase | 1.8–3.0% |
| Plain percentage discount | 1.0–2.0% |

Valentine’s buyers fear one thing above price: the gift arriving late or the table not being ready. Put the delivery promise or booking confirmation in the headline, not the small print. The same lesson holds for Father’s Day campaigns beyond the gift later in 2027.
Quick Answer: Keep Valentine’s creative warm, modest and clearly separate from religious symbols. Don’t mix Valentine’s with Ramadan, CNY deities or Raya imagery, and don’t single out anyone’s religion in your copy. Choose your audience through your offer and placements, not by guessing someone’s faith.
| Do | Avoid |
|---|---|
| Focus on the gift, the meal or the experience | Suggestive or overly intimate imagery |
| Keep Valentine’s and Ramadan campaigns separate | “Valentine’s iftar” or ketupat next to roses |
| Write inclusive copy: “for someone special” | Copy that names or implies the viewer’s religion |
| Offer non-romantic options (friends, family) | Pushing Valentine’s messages to every audience |
| Use soft colours with a little red | Reusing CNY red-and-gold creatives a week later |
Meta’s privacy violations and personal attributes policy also bans ad copy that asserts or implies a viewer’s religion, so “Not fasting this week?” is both insensitive and likely to be rejected. For a fresh look after CNY, our guide on standing out in a sea of red CNY ads has palette ideas that work for Valentine’s too.
For Chinese-language Chap Goh Mei ads, check our CNY ad taboos and CNY ad copy in Mandarin guides; a Year of the Goat 2027 mascot still fits until 20 February.
Quick Answer: Judge Valentine’s by orders and bookings, not likes. Track cost per order, return on ad spend, average order value and the share of orders that arrived on time. Compare against your own Valentine’s 2026 results and your normal February week, not against CNY.
| Metric | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Cost per order or booking | Did the ads pay for themselves on each sale? |
| Return on ad spend (ROAS) | Is the campaign above your break-even point? |
| Average order value | Did bundles and personalisation lift spend? |
| On-time delivery rate | Will these buyers come back next year? |
| WhatsApp enquiries | How many sales closed in chat, not on the site? |
Tag every ad link with UTM parameters and give WhatsApp enquiries a simple label, such as “VAL27”, so chat sales are counted. Our guide to measuring festive campaign ROI shows how to separate the campaign’s effect from normal February demand.
Quick Answer: Tick these off by the end of January 2027 so your campaign can switch on the moment CNY ends.
Keep this checklist after February. The same steps work for Merdeka campaigns and Christmas marketing later in the year.
Valentine’s Day Malaysia 2027 is short, crowded and sensitive, but still worth winning for gift, dining and experience brands. Choose one buyer, prepare your page and ads in January, spend from 8 February, sell certainty rather than discounts, and carry the campaign into Chap Goh Mei. If you want February planned as one connected campaign, our digital marketing team can build it with you.
Valentine’s Day falls on Sunday 14 February 2027. It is not a public holiday in Malaysia. It comes one week after Chinese New Year (6 and 7 February) and is expected to fall in the first week of Ramadan.
Yes, for businesses whose buyers celebrate it, with care. Malaysia’s National Fatwa Council advises Muslims not to celebrate Valentine’s Day, so keep creative modest, avoid religious symbols, and never imply anyone’s religion in your copy.
As an estimate, RM1,500–RM12,000 in ad spend over about two weeks covers most Malaysian SMEs. Small budgets should prioritise Google Search for high-intent searches like flower delivery and Valentine’s dinner.
Chap Goh Mei is the 15th and final day of Chinese New Year, often called the Chinese Valentine’s Day. In 2027 it falls on Saturday 20 February, so one campaign can cover both dates.
