Why most digital marketing agencies fail at gym marketing.
Fitness sits between a trial-pass funnel, a regulated membership contract and a calendar that gives you a third of the year in eight weeks. Generic playbooks miss all three. Our SEO agency page explains the methodology.
A cheap lead is not a member
Gym leads are among the cheapest in Malaysian paid social, roughly RM 6 to RM 14 on Meta, and only about one in fourteen walks in and joins. Judge the account on cost per joined member and the winning creative changes, usually away from discounts and towards the first visit.
A membership is a regulated contract
A gym membership is a future services contract under the Consumer Protection Act 1999, and members can file at the Tribunal for Consumer Claims for RM 5. After the 2017 True Fitness closures, 90 members lodged claims totalling RM 348,911. Ads that hide lock-in build disputes.
January is a third of the year
New Year searches for commercial gyms run about 68% above the annual average in January, fall to roughly 84 during Ramadan, rebound after Raya, then bottom near 74 to 84 in December. A flat retainer underspends the cheapest weeks of the year.
Six models, six different buyers
A RM 99 chain membership, a RM 320 class pack and a RM 780 personal training block attract different people at lifetime values from roughly RM 970 to RM 4,300. Run them in one campaign and the chain rate sets the bid while the PT studio starves.
