Quick Answer: Every speed test produces one of two kinds of data. Lab data comes from a simulated load on a machine in a data centre. Field data comes from real Chrome users who visited your site. Google ranks on field data. Lab data only tells you why the field data looks the way it does.

Two things stand out. Only two of the six show you what real visitors experienced — and both are Google’s. And the tool most people rely on, GTmetrix, is a lab tool: brilliant for diagnosis, useless as a verdict on whether Google thinks your site is slow.
Quick Answer: A lab score of 62 followed by 78 on the same page is normal, not a bug. Lab tests are run on shared machines under variable load, so a swing of 10 to 15 points between runs means nothing. Only a consistent trend across several runs is a signal.

The pattern is consistent. Build choice sets the ceiling; hosting only decides how close you get to it. A page builder loading forty widgets will be slow on any server, which is exactly why we audit the plugin stack on a business WordPress site before blaming the host. Quick Answer: Up to a point, yes. Moving a site out of the red band into the amber band produces most of the commercial gain. Going from a good score to a perfect 100 produces almost none — which is why chasing 100 is the most expensive hobby in web performance.
The evidence outside your own site is blunt. Google analysed 11 million mobile landing pages and found that as load time goes from one second to ten, the probability of a mobile visitor bouncing rises by 123%. In the same study, 70% of pages took more than five seconds to show visible content above the fold.
